Rosacea is a very common skin condition, affecting both men and women, but most commonly noted in females and those with pale skin types.
Symptoms present as redness and visible blood vessels across the cheeks and nose, and sometimes also on the forehead and chin. Rosacea can cause pus-filled spots, which can be mistaken for acne. Sufferers also describe stinging or burning sensations to their skin. It can be triggered to flare up by spicy food, alcohol, heat or stressful situations, but these are not the cause. There is no cure for rosacea but the skin condition can be well managed.
